Team Lead - Java Applications

Role Mandate
Reporting to the Director, Development and IT Operations, the Java Application Team Lead will be responsible for system development life cycle, including application development, implementation, post-implementation review and application support. The Team Lead will be responsible for managing a team of developers • both internal and external • in the technical design, implementation of software application, quality review and software testing, system integration testing, and implementation roll-out. Reporting to the Director, Development and IT Operations, the Team Lead will play a hands-on role in developing and supporting quality applications within desired timeframes, managing analysis, developing an effective team and acting as an interface between programmers and management.

Key Accountabilities
Develop and maintain Java EE web-based applications including analysis, design, development, implementation and application support.
Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of internal and external developers.
Act as an interface between the development team and management personnel.
Supervise and delegate work, ensuring software projects come in on time and within budget.
Responsible for the overall performance, stability and availability of supported applications.
Technical leadership as the software expert, driving the delivery of new software through the deployment lifecycle and assisting in the management and maintainability of production software.
Provide 7/24 on-call support on a rotational basis.
Professional Experience & Education
University Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 7 years of Java experience and 2 years as a Team Lead.
Experience using Java application frameworks and technologies such as Spring, Web Services, JPA, Hibernate, EJB3, XML, JDBC, JMS, SQL, JSF, Facelets, Servlets, JSP, Javascript, AJAX, CSS, JUnit/TestNG, Ant, Maven.
Experience supervising a development team by assigning tasks; ensuring an even workload split; mentoring and encouraging best practices.
Experience in supporting JEE applications in production environments.
Experience in Object-Oriented analysis and design.

This person will be the Senior iOS developer on the team. This team is responsible for several MAJOR mobile app projects that will involve the development of numerous NEW apps that have HUGE exposure to the marketplace. This is one of the largest projects/initiatives in this large Tier 1 entertainment company and will have SVP and CIO level exposure.

They will be using very advanced technologies, vendors, and systems in order to deliver a mobile experience that will have a LARGE impact on the entertainment industry.

There is currently a Team Lead who this senior developer will be working very closely with. The Team Lead needs to augment the knowledge of his team with a very Senior iOS Developer. The role will be responsible for a lot of coding, but will have significant impact and say on direction, strategy and design.
Must have:
- At least 5+ years as iOS development, experience should be at the senior level
- Excellent communication, strong vendor involvement/management, represent team at large stakeholder meetings.
- Any experience with Android would be an asset, although iOS is 90%+ of the work.
- Any experience with SSO (single sign on) and/or authentication would be an asset

Responsibilities:
- Be the go-to senior developer for driving this product through development, testing and go-live.
- Aggressive timelines, with multiple apps initially (10+), and numerous more to follow
- Work with internal development teams, product teams, vendors and understand and manage the tie ins to numerous other very large enterprise systems.

Conduct sales presentations to new client prospects both in person and over the phone. Provide quality customer service, ongoing guidance and support to clients throughout the complete sales cycle (from prospecting to closing).
Skills Required Post secondary education. Proven track record of previous sales experience, ideally within the IT or staffing industry. Entrepreneurial mindset. Personable, outgoing, able to proactively meet, attract and work with senior level stakeholders. Self-motivated, highly organized and detail-oriented.Why join Redwood?
